One of the biggest cheers of the evening came 90 minutes into the concert as the Queen arrived to take her seat in the Royal Box alongside other members of her family. She entered amid thunderous applause — clearly wearing earplugs to protect her from the loud volume.
The Queen arrived just in time to catch Gary Barlow and a choir perform Sing - the official Diamond Jubilee anthem he wrote with Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Dame Shirley Bassey captured the mood of the 60-year celebrations by belting out her hit Diamonds Are Forever.
She was followed by a typically raunchy routine from Kylie Minogue - and a crowd-pleasing performance from Sir Elton John.
Rolf Harris had the crowd - including Princess Anne — singing along with him on his tearjerking classic Two Little Boys.
Then soul legend Stevie Wonder got everyone up and dancing with blistering versions of Sir Duke and Superstition. Madness brought the house down — by performing Our House from the roof of Buck House.
The final show-stopping act was Sir Paul McCartney — who kicked off with The Beatles’ Magical Mystery Tour and All My Loving. Let It Be sparked a mass singalong before Live And Let Die had the crowd punching the air in delight.
The other performers then joined Macca for a joyous version of Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da.
